The Next Year
Hello faithful Pinehurst campers! Making sure all of you have a wonderful holiday and that everyone stays healthy continues to be of paramount importance to me and the entire team here. To that effect, I'm continuing to do the disinfectant fogging introduced last year:
Upon check-out each unit is stripped of bedding, the windows are closed, and all drawers/cabinets opened. A disinfectant is applied to all surfaces via an ionized fog and allowed to sit for at least 10 minutes. The windows are then opened and allowed to air out for another 10 minutes. Only at that point do our cleaning staff enter the room and do our normal cleaning.
I'm still asking all of you to bring your own blankets, pillows, and bed pads if at all possible. When we provide them, we must sanitize each one after use and we don't have the laundry facilities on-site to do the entire property.
For the housekeeping cottages with kitchens, please bring cutlery, glasses, and mugs. We provide the bowls, plates, sharp knives, cutting boards, pots, pans, as well as the normal selection of large spoons/spatulas/etc. Toasters, microwaves, and coffee pots continue to remain in the housekeeping cottages.
If you've forgotten anything, please ask! We have it all here and are happy to share. It may take us a little while to find it though ;)
The playground is open again!!! Children and parents everywhere rejoice.
The restrictions at the pool have been lifted for those that are fully vaccinated. Please still observe social distancing both in and out of the pool. For those that are not vaccinated, masks are still required when not in the water. No one may wear masks while in the water.
Here's hoping this is the last year of enhanced cleaning procedures. Thank you all so much for your understanding of potential delays in checking-in due to the extra time it takes to disinfect and clean your rooms.

The Pool is Open!!!
Although it seemed for weeks like the pool would defeat Dad and me, we have finally beaten it into submission. As of this afternoon, the pool is officially open.
We are still working out the nuances, but at the moment there will be only one group at a time in the pool. There is a sign-up sheet in the office and each group will have to sign in and out.
There is no deck furniture this year, so for those of you that prefer to admire the water from a distance, make sure to bring a pool chair.
Keep cool,
Dave

Open and NY Travel Advisory
Hello our faithful followers! It's been so busy here, I forgot to let everyone know we're fully open!!! We are still working with NY to see if we can meet the guidelines to open the pool, and the playground is most likely closed for the summer. Other than that, we are fully operational.
On a less upbeat note, NY has recently introduced a Travel Advisory which affects mainly our Southern friends. At this point, we cannot accept reservations from the following states:
- Alabama
- Arkansas
- Arizona
- California
- Florida
- Georgia
- Iowa
- Idaho
- Kansas
- Louisiana
- Minnesota
- Mississippi
- New Mexico
- North Carolina
- Nevada
- Ohio
- Oklahoma
- South Carolina
- Tennessee
- Texas
- Utah
- Wisconsin
Please keep an eye on the COVID-19 Travel Advisory page for updates. Hopefully the affected states will soon be allowed into NY.
Spots are filling up quickly, so make sure to book soon for some Pinehurst social distance fun!
Stay safe and healthy,
Dave Vrooman

Opening Delayed
Since 1955, three generations of our family have worked to create a welcoming atmosphere at Pinehurst. Indeed, we’ve grown up with three… even four generations of some of you and consider you part of our family.
This makes it all the more difficult to announce that we are postponing the opening of Pinehurst until mid-June at the earliest. We will be contacting each of you to see how we can best meet your specific needs.
In these unprecedented times, it is particularly hard for us to make business decisions.
Our first concern is your health, our worker’s health, our own health and the health of our surrounding communities.
Secondly, we are dealing with a very difficult governmental and financial situation. Changes in regulations and availability of funds make it difficult to make a decision as to when we can begin the long and complicated process of safely opening.
We make this announcement with great regret because we love providing all of you with a special time at Pinehurst. We, like you, would like immediate, concrete answers as to what the future holds, but we cannot give those at this point. We want to be open as soon as possible, but many factors must be considered. We are continually monitoring the situation and as soon as we know more, we will pass this on to you. We will keep our website updated and you can sign up for email updates below. Of course, we are always glad to speak with you personally at 315-482-9452.
With our thanks and prayers,
Bob, Betty Lou and David Vrooman

Refunds
Our current hope is that Pinehurst will open as usual on May 11th. Like everyone else, we are waiting day by day to see how the virus epidemic works its way out. Right now, it is too early to know how profound the impact will be. As we monitor the situation, we will make business plans more concrete as new information evolves. It is our hope and prayer that you remain well and that we will be able to offer our customers a well-deserved break once the danger has passed.
We realize that the virus is having a profound effect on each of you in many and different ways. Therefore, if your needs dictate in these difficult times, let us know and we will send you a full refund. If you'd like to keep the reservation, we will keep you on our charts & contact you if another person requests the same room.
If you can wait to see how events turn out, we will of course, hold your reservation and let you know our plans as early as possible.
Please keep monitoring this page for further updates or sign up below to receive emails when new information is available.
